Swachetna Foundation celebrated International Women's Day by organizing Swabhimaan, a special initiative dedicated to recognizing and honouring the often-overlooked women who work tirelessly to keep our city safe, clean, and well-managed.
The Foundation invited women security guards and parking attendants serving at East Court Tower, Viman Nagar, Pune, and expressed heartfelt appreciation for their dedication and hard work. Each participant was honoured with thank-you cards, fresh flowers, and stainless-steel water bottles as tokens of gratitude.
During the event, the Foundation also encouraged the women to prioritize their health by staying hydrated, reminding them that regular water intake is essential for maintaining their strength and well-being while performing long working hours.
As part of the program, women rag pickers were also invited and honoured with equal respect and dignity. The Foundation interacted with them to understand the daily challenges they face and assured them of support by taking steps to address their concerns.
One of the most emotional moments of the event came when the invited rag picker women shared that they had never before been honoured in such a respectful manner. They were welcomed with applause, invited to sit alongside everyone else with dignity and respect, and deeply moved by the kindness shown to them. Their heartfelt gratitude reflected the true spirit of equality, compassion, and human dignity.
