Vasundharam – Supporting Miyawaki Tree Plantation for a Greener Future in Pune

Protecting the environment requires more than awareness it demands meaningful action. With this belief, Swachetna Foundation proudly participated in the Vasundharam initiative organized by the Rotary Club at Central Jail Farm, Yerwada, Pune.

The Rotary Club launched an ambitious plantation campaign with the goal of planting 11,000 trees to create a greener and healthier environment. Inspired by this initiative, Swachetna Foundation approached the Rotary Club to contribute through volunteer participation.

The Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. Rajendra Kumar Saraf, a senior representative of the Rotary Club, who not only granted permission for our volunteers to participate but also guided them throughout the plantation activity by sharing valuable instructions and best practices.

During the plantation drive, the dedicated volunteers of Swachetna Foundation successfully planted approximately 140 trees, making a meaningful contribution to the large-scale environmental campaign.

The program also provided an opportunity to learn about the Miyawaki Forest Plantation technique, an innovative afforestation method in which trees and plants grow closely together, supporting one another to develop into a dense, self-sustaining forest. This method encourages faster growth, improves biodiversity, and creates long-term environmental benefits.

Through its participation in Vasundharam, Swachetna Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation, community participation, and creating a greener, healthier future for generations to come.
